Betty Combs Dye

Betty Combs Dye, 79, of Eldon died Friday, May 6, 2005, in Jefferson City, MO.

She was born March 6, 1926, in Cimarron, Kansas, to the Rev. Warren L. and Lillian Marie Scales Botkin. She was first married to McKinley Combs, Jr, who preceded her in death. She later married Donald E. Dye, who also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Dye was a member of the Eldon First Assembly of God Church, serving as a Sunday school teacher and church secretary.

Surviving her are two daughters and a son-in-law, Pat and Delbert Hayes and Rebecca Poertner, all of Eldon; a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Jamie Combs of Springfield; 10 grandchildren, Tiffany Hayes of Olathe, Kansas; Galen Hayes, Sam Poertner and Joe Poertner, all of Eldon, Angela Lucas of Leawood, Kansas, Lindsay Combs, Megan Combs, Jerry Combs II and Jay Wilkins, all of Springfield; and Ian Poertner of St. Louis; a great grandson, Grant Lucas; a brother, Warren Botkin of the state of Oregon; and two step-children,Cathy Vogt of St. Louis and Dave Dye of Richland.

Funeral services were held at 12 p.m. Tuesday at the Eldon First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. James Hedrick officiating. Burial was in Greenmore Memorial Gardens at Barnett under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon.
