The funeral service of David Tilton Sleeper, who died Friday afternoon, May 13, who had been blind for 51 of his 86 years of life, was held Monday afternoon at his late home in in the Gove district to which he came from Sandown 28 years ago. His wife, Mary A. (Sanborn) Sleeper, died in Haverhill, Mass., 16 years ago. His children are Mrs. Mary A. Bailey and Clara E. Sleeper of Haverhill, Mass., Mrs. Flora Jane Johnson (W.L.) of Raymond; Sanborn Sleeper, at home, now ill, and Horace M. Sleeper of Haverhill, Mass. The service is conducted by the Rev. J.N. Bradford, the pastor of the M.E. church. The burial was in Sanborn cemetery, Sandown. Edgar T. Brown was undertaker. Mr. Sleeper though sightless was able to do quite a good deal and he lived a quiet, unassuming, cheery life, and had reached beyond 86 years of earth pilgrimage. His birthplace was in Vermont, Oct. 5, 1823. His parents, James and Mary A. (Sanborn) Sleeper.
