Bertha's obituary was published in the Lebanon Reporter on 23-Dec-1947 on pg. 1, column 5:
"BERTHA B. TAYLOR DIES EARLY TODAY - Services Friday At Dover Church - Mrs. Bertha B. (McDaniel) Taylor, age 60 years, lifelong resident of the Dover community, passed away at her home six miles west of Lebanon in State Road 32. She had been in failing health for some time and bedfast since April.
Mrs. Taylor was born on the McDaniel homestead, one mile north of Dover, a daughter of Henry F. and Clara (Randel) McDaniel, both natives of Montgomery county. Her father died in October, 1946, and her mother survives and resides at the west edge of Lebanon in State Road 32. She was married at the home of her parents, near Dover, on September 27, 1908, to Orval V. Taylor, who survives. Since her marriage she had resided on the farm west of Lebanon.
She was a member of the Dover Christian Church, the Star Class and Aid Society, and was active in the church and its various departments as long as her health permitted.
Survivors are the mother, the husband, four children, Mrs. Anna Poynter, Mrs. Bessie Rice and Mrs. Elizabeth Ginn, all of near Dover, and Leo Taylor at home; a brother, Buren McDaniel of Lebanon, and five grandchildren. One grandchild is deceased.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at eleven o'clock at the Dover Christian Church with the Rev. Raymond Duff, pastor of the Dover Church, and the Rev. Ora McDaniel of Advance, officiating. Burial will be in Dover cemetery. The body will be removed from the Russell & Hitch funeral home Wednesday afternoon, to the residence, six miles west of Lebanon, where friends may call. The body will lie in state at the church one hour preceding the service."

"Mrs. O. V. Taylor Dies; Rites Friday - Lebanon, Ind., Dec. 23 (Spl.)--Mrs. Bertha McDaniel Taylor, 60 years old, a resident of Dover vicinity in Boone County, died today at her home.
Survivors include her husband, Orval V. Taylor; her mother, Mrs. Clara Randel McDaniel; four children, Mrs. Anna Poynter, Mrs. Bessie Rice and Mrs. Elizabeth Ginn, all of near Dover, and Leo, at home; a brother, Buren McDaniel, Lebanon, and five grandchildren.
