Born March 11, 1925 in Cameron, Illinois, she was the daughter of Emil and Katherine Jane Callister Swanson. In October 1947, she married Oscar Davis in Biggsville, Illinois and in July 1972 she married William Brumm in Stronghurst, Illinois. Both her husbands preceded her in death.
Mrs. Brumm was a 1943 graduate of Stronghurst High School and attended Brown's Business College.
In the 1950's, she and her husband Oscar owned and operated a Coast-to-Coast Hardware Store in Carthage where they also sold Necchi sewing machines. Mrs. Brumm later worked at Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, was Deputy Circuit Clerk in Henderson County, worked at Stronghurst and Burlington banks, was secretary at J.I. Case Co. and retired as a salesperson from Montgomery Ward.
Mrs. Brumm was a member of West Burlington United Methodist Church and Ladies of the Moose. She was an accomplished seamstress.
Survivors include her fiancé, Sam Piraino of Chillicothe, Illinois; one sister, Lois Hutson of Galesburg, Illinois; one niece, Nancy Leonard of Galesburg; two nephews, Gary Icenogle of Galesburg and Randy Icenogle of Phoenix, Arizona; and eight great nieces and nephews.
Besides her husbands, her parents and sister Kathleen Jacobs preceded her in death.
A memorial has been established for American Red Cross Flood Relief.
