A DEAR FRIEND †

JOHN E SLOCUM, 22yrs; 9mos and 1day

of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, died August 10, 1985 from injuries sustained in a tragic motorcycle accident. John was dearly loved by everyone that knew him. John aways had a unique way to put a smile on everyone's face; I never saw John angry or upset with anyone during his short life. John loved his music and John played the drums and, he was a very good at it. John also loved to ride dirt bikes and was a terrific rider too. Most of all, I am so happy that John found the Lord before he went to his new home in heaven to be with the Lord; John's mother was proud to share this with the many friends that attended his funeral. There was literally standing room only in the funeral home to pay their last respects. Johns spirit still lives on for eternity… John presence is still with those who knew him. God used him to share His goodness with so many people during his brief lifetime and when his mission was completed He called him to be with the Father who loves him the most! It was my honor to call him a friend. And, now God calls him His friend and a child of God. John was well liked and much loved by so many. The Lord's willing, I will always remember you. I had a lot photos of 'JohnE', riding his dirt bikes, his first car; him at work at his first job and the events go on… however, I loss every image that I had of him so I took some new images of the place where he lived; the place that handled his funeral arrangements and the grave of he and his beloved mother are interned. He is greatly missed by many but I know he's in a better place now; may you rest in eternal peace my friend
can't wait to see you again; until the Rapture or Resurrection Day!✞

[HS] Inscription reads:
JOHN E SLOCUM 1962 – 1985 and F. EILEEN FERRER 1933 – 1987 IN LOVING MEMORY ~+~ IN OUR HEARTS YOUR MEMORY LINGERS, SWEETLY, TENDER AND TRUE. THERE IS NOT A DAY JOHN THAT, WE DO NOT THINK OF YOU. GONE IS YOUR FACE WE LOVED SO DEAR, SILENT THE VOICE WE LONG TO HEAR AWAY FROM OUR SIGHT AND SPEECH, BUT NOT TO FAR FOR THOUGHTS TO REACH. YOUR LOVING MEMORY WILL NEVER DIE, AS THE DAYS PASS ON AND THE YEARS GO BY. FOR IN OUR HEARTS THE MEMORY IS KEPT. OF THE ONE WE ALL LOVED AND WILL NEVER FORGET.
