She was born June 7, 1914, in Rhea County, TN, the daughter of James and Maggie Ida Guess Hill.
She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Hill Church of Christ. She enjoyed quilting and loved playing canasta. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who lived through the many hard times and changes that have occurred in this world. She was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her.
She was survived by sons- William E. Rogers of Charleston, SC, James "Freddy" Rogers of Crossville, TN and Billy L. Rogers of Augusta, GA, daughters- Mary Nicols of Jacksonville, FL and Florence Scoggins of Crossville, sisters- Geneva Hajney of Crossville and Opal Stringer of Cookeville TN, eighteen grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers- U. J. Bryant, Robert Bryant, Sam Bryant and Jerden Bryant and sisters- Helen Houston and Georgie Cooper.
Funeral services were held at Hood Funeral Home. Congregational singing was led by son-in-law- Nick Nicols. Pallbearers were Dewayne Beaty, Keith Beaty, Daniel Rogers, Billy Rogers, Roscoe Houston and Cecil Houston Jr.
