Our adopted grandmother, born Emma Mortensen in Denmark and had one sister, Edith Mortensen, who lived in Washington D.C., USA. A world traveler, Emma died at age 85 with Neil Kelly sitting at her side holding her hand. She was very close to Winnie (aka Beverly) & Neil Kelly, my brother Paul Blote, and to myself. She didn't have children from her brief marriage in Italy but we found she adopted us as family really, and we were glad of it.

A long-term resident of the Sunnyvale Baha'i Community, she had worked at the World Center in Haifa, Israel and served on the first Denmark Assembly of Baha'is. Married briefly to Finn Martensen and remained single to the end of her days. Our dear Emma is buried very near Paul, my brother.

Known for a quick wit, dry humour and keen eye for attention to details, she loved serving the Faith. We love her and look forward to our celestial reunion, one day. Neil Kelly has recently passed to whom she leaned on in her last days, I'll bet she was there waiting to greet him. ;-D

Thank you, Dear Emma, for your eternal love and friendship which is returned happily, in kind.
