Annie Laura Whitaker was born on October 15,, 1912 to Lizzie and Jack Spencer in Green County, Alabama. Annie acccepted Christ at an early age and united with St. Paul Methodist church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She married Kirby Whitaker Sr., in 1940 and to this union seven children were born.
Annie Laura moved to Long Beach, California of 1969, joining her amily who had preceded her in coming to Long Beach, California. She fellow shipped with Revelation Holy Baptist Church.
On March 28, 1985, Annie Laura departed this life at St. Mary's Medical Center, Long Beach, CA.
She left to mourn her departing, four sons, Kirby Jr.(now deceased), Willie, Tommy and McDonald (both now deceased); Three daughters, Lillie Ford , Mary Whitaker(both now deceased) and Annie Ruth Whitaker; one son-in-law, Sherman Ford (now deceased), two daughter-in-laws, Dorothy and Lola Whitaker, all of Long Beach,, CA.; one sister, Hattie White of Tuscaloosa, Alabama (now deceased), 25 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
