Jacqueline Brockman, 85, of Belvidere died Saturday, July 5, 2008, in Maplecrest Nursing Home after a long illness. Born April 13, 1923, in Spooner, Wis., the daughter of Rolly and Grace (Donaldson) Warner. She married Ralph Brockman on June 1, 1946, in Belvidere. She was employed as an aide at the three-area nursing homes, Maplecrest, Northwoods and Biltmore. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Keen Age Center and a former member of the Boone County Historical Society. She was an avid sports fan, supporting the Chicago Cubs, Bears and the Belvidere Bucs. In addition to sports, she also enjoyed gardening tulips, transplanting trees, playing cards and raising cats. She was a graduate of Janesville (Wis.) High School, Class of 1942. She received her letter "J" for swimming and golf. She is survived by her three sons, Gerry of Belvidere, John of Lansing, Mich., and Tom of Belvidere; four grandsons; two granddaughters; two great-grand-sons and two great-grand-daughters; sister-in-law, Pauline Knitter; and brother-in-law, Dean Bailey. She is preceded in death by her husband in 1978; a daughter, Barbara (Meagher) Kinnamon in 1990; sisters, Jean Bailey and Angeline Millis; and a brother, David Warner. Service at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 11, in Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Eugene Wille officiating. Burial in Highland Garden of Memories. Visitation from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Friday at the church. Arrangements by Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family in her name.
