Davis
Services for Bobbie Jean Davis, 75, were held Thursday, June 19, 2008, at Pecan Street Church of Christ with Bro. Nugene Knox officiating. Interment was in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Davis died Wednesday, June 11, at OU Medical Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK.
She was born March 31, 1933.
She married Andrew Davis on Aug. 5, 1957, and they had three children.
Mrs. Davis attended school at Aycock High School in Rockdale where she graduated salutatorian of her class.
After high school, she attended Southwestern Christian College.
Mrs. Davis was one of the first members at Pecan Street Church of Christ where she taught Sunday school class for many years. She enjoyed fund-raising for the church.
Mrs. Davis is preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Nettie Roberson Sr.; three sisters, Lillie Mae McGee, Bertha Jackson and Sible Enge; and a brother, Lussine Roberson.
Survivors are her husband, Andrew Davis of Temple; two daughters Susan Chapman and Joy Elaine Davis, both of Oklahoma City, OK; a son, Alfred Davis of Temple; a sister, Nettie Patterson of Temple; two brothers, James Thomason of Oklahoma City, OK, and Bob Roberson of Houston; three granddaughters Pamela Davis of Rockdale, Shannon Davis and Tamera Davis, both of Oklahoma City, OK; a grandson, Arick Davis of Oklahoma City, OK; and a great-grandchild, Shamari Davis; also, a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends.
