Mildred Graduated from Webber High School with the class of 1926. She was united in marriage to Howard Blackstone on June 7, 1933. To this union, three sons, Rex, Don and Leo were born. They lived on a farm northeast of Superior where they farmed for almost 30 years. They moved to Superior in 1960, where she resided until her death.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Superior.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Howard on May 29, 1984; sister, Erma Shill; daughter-in-law, Doris Blackstone; granddaughter, Diane Lynn Blackstone; and great-grandson, Jason Poole.
Survivors include her sons, Rex of Superior, Nebraska, Don and wife Linda of Webber, Kansas and Leo and wife Jeanine of Superior, Nebraska; nine grandchildren, Sherri Poole and husband Craig of Superior, Nebraska, Joni Fish and husband Richard of Englewood, Colorado, Susan Ray and husband David of Allen, Texas, Kevin Blackstone and wife Caren of Alamagordo, New Mexico, Crystal Blackstone of Allen, Texas, Kelly Schroer and husband Lavern of Nelson, Nebraska, Daren Blackstone and wife Tanya,Barry Blackstone and wife Karla, and Jamie Blackstone and wife Heather all of Superior, Nebraska; 23 great-grandchildren, Ryan and Austin Poole; Emily, Kathryn and Elizabeth Fish; Jonathan, Jessica and Jeniece Ray; Levi and Brett Blackstone; Sarah Andreasen of Chadron, Nebraska, Kaci, Luke, Levi and Lane Schroer; Spencer, Carson and Ashton Blackstone; Madison and Conner Blackstone; and Tyler, Dylan and Haley Blackstone; one sister, Lois Willius of McMinnville, Oregon; nephews, Terry Shil of Long Island, New York, Greg Willius of McMinnville, Oregon and Ron Rillius of Salem, Oregon; other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held on Monday, February 4, 2008 at 2:00 PM from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Mark Diehl officiating. Music was "Rock Of Ages." and "Amazing Grace," with Alicia Ferguson as soloist and Carlita Erickson as organist.
Pallbearers were Daren Blackstone, Barry Blackstone, James Blackstone, Kevin Blackstone, Richard Fish, Craig Poole, Lavern Schroer and David Ray.
Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.
Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior, Nebraska was in charge of the arrangements.
