Maude "Skipper" Rampey Blitch, 90, widow of Melvin Blitch, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004, at Bay View Nursing Center.
Mrs. Blitch was born Sept. 30, 1914, in Anderson, a daughter of Dessie Pruitt Rampy and John Will Rampey.

As a teenager, she was voted "Healthiest Girl in Anderson County.": She was a volunteer for the Red Cross during World War II, a member and former president of Opti-mrs Club of Savannah, member and former president of Moose Club Auxiliary of Savannah, and a member of St. Helena's Episcopal Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Schaaf of Beaufort and Sally Winship of Lee's Summit, Mo.; four grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004 at Copeland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2004, at the E. C. Copeland Memorial Chapel. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. at Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Helena's Episcopal Church, Post Office Box 1043, Beaufort, S.C. 29901.
