Alice died in California while staying with her daughter Marian. She had wanted to be buried in Utah so Dorothy flew to California and then rode the train back to Utah with her mother's body. She was then buried in Bountiful.
Obituary: Funeral services were held Saturday, August 22, at 10 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Downey for Mrs. Alice Welborn Foote, 76, who died at her home, 7017 Dinwiddie Street on August 20.
The Rev. Milton Gould officiated. Interment will be in Bountiful, Utah, with Miller-Downey Mortuary directing arrangements.
Mrs. Foote was born in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, "England, and resided in Downey for the past eight years. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Marian C. Daugherty of Downey and Mrs. Dorothy L. Potter of Bountiful, Utah; a sister, Mrs. Hilda Barnett of Wiggins, Miss.; brother, George Welborn, of Fair.Hope, Ala.; five grand-daughters and two grand-sons.
