Adina Agard, 97, of Windsor, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, (June 25, 2008) at Hartford Hospital.
Born in Guyana on February 2nd, 1911, she came to the United States in 1984.
She is survived by her daughters, Maureen Fredericks, with whom she made her home in Windsor; Norma Francis; Jean Samuels and Joan Worrell all of Hartford; her sons, Marshall Sookram of Brooklyn, NY, George Benson of Hartford and Leyland Benson of Guyana; 36 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her children, Shirley Sookram, Owen Benson, Vaneira Charles, and Loretta Brady.
Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 180 Farmington Ave., Hartford on Tuesday, July 1 from 5-9 p.m.
Burial will be in Friends Church of Scotland Cemetery in Guyana.
