Felix Monroe Bobbitt was born on 02 Jun 1847 in Gibson or Scott County, Tennessee. His father Samuel McQuerry Bobbitt born about 1821 and he was an officer serving in the Civil War. Felix Monroe Bobbbitt was also involved in the Civil war but only at the end of the war and never saw any action. They lived in Sevier County, Arkansas sometime after 1860 (This is a guess based on a land patent found for Samuel Bobbitt). Ben Felix Bobbitt was the youngest son of Felix Monroe Bobbitt and Martha Jane Hampton b 1874 of Barber in Logan County Arkansas. Felix Benjamin Bobbitt was the youngest child born when his father was 69 years old and his mother was 45.
Felix Monroe Bobbitt was married three times and had 12 children. He helped raise 17 children throughout his years including some of the eight Harkey Children from Martha Jane Hampton's first marriage to Charles Henry Harkey.
During his earlier years Felix was an agent of a vitamin
company for a time, selling an elixir. Felix did a number of different jobs throughout his lifetime apparently. Ben Bobbitt, his youngest son, says he was a school teacher and also studied to be a doctor, but never completed that. Folks still came to him for medical advice and he'd tell them what to buy for what ailed them. Ben Bobbitt said Felix had the prettiest hand writing he'd ever seen by a man. Felix did his share of preaching and Ben said he has too. And of course, Felix was also a farmer, most of his life.

Mr. Bobbitt was the oldest citizen of this community. If had lived until June he would have been 90 years old. He was the father of 17 children. His wife and 9 children survive. The funeral services were conducted at Pine Log church by J. A. Swanson, after which all mortal remains were tenderly placed in the beautiful city of the dead, there to await his Lord's return. Mr. Bobbitt was a man of sterling worth, and had a host of friends besides his loved ones to mourn his going. He was converted when a young man and all who knew him speak of him as a friend and neighbor. As far as any one knew he never had an enemy. May the sustaining grace of our Lord support and comfort us in this hour of sorrow
