Edgar Henry, 78, died Sunday at his home in Rockdale, Texas after an extended illness. Funeral services were held from the Phillips & Luckey chapel Monday at 4 p.m., with Rev. H.M. Roark and Rev. Ralph F. Powell, of the Baptist church, officiating. Burial was in Oak Lawn cemetery with the Masonic lodge in charge of graveside rites. Edgar Henry came to Rockdale with his parents when he was 5 years old. He had lived most of his life here, having resided in Runnels County, Texas for a time in the 1920s and 1930s. He was married in Crockett, Texas on the 2nd January 1895, to Miss Berta Mary Sharp, and to the couple were born eight children, one passing away in infancy. Mr. Henry had been a member of the Baptist church since he was a boy of 17. Rockdale Reporter, June 1950.
