Mrs. Ruby DeMond, 60, of Route 1, East Leroy, a life-long resident of Battle Creek until three weeks ago when she and her husband moved to East Leroy, died late Wednesday afternoon at a local hospital where she had been a patient for one day. She had been in ill health for three years. Mrs. DeMond was born Feb. 19, 1906, here, a daughter of Ralph and Elizabeth (Shaw) McConkey. She was maried to Otis DeMond in 1929, here. Mrs. DeMond is survived by her husband: a daughter, Mrs. Earl (Elizabeth) Furlong, of Nashville, Mich.; a son, Otis, of 1030 E.
