Lucas Tyler Alford
Lucas Alford, age 21, of DeFuniak Springs, passed away June 23, 2008. He was born August 18, 1986 in Niceville, Florida to Lewis and Lynette Lindsey Alford.
Lucas had been a resident of DeFuniak Springs. He was Baptist by faith and a member of Southwide Baptist Church. He graduated from Walton High School in 2004, where he played football and was recognized as an All State Linebacker and, Defensive Player of the year in 2003. He broke the tackling record at Walton High School with over 152 tackles. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his son Luke. He also enjoyed his 1978 GMC pickup truck known as the ‘Beast' and his Harley Davidson Sportster. He was known as a hardworking man.
Lucas is preceded in death by his brother Logan Spencer Alford, maternal grandpa Jerry Lindsey and paternal grandmother Linda Grace Caswell.
Lucas is survived by his father and mother Lewis and Lynette Alford of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, his wife Mistie Dawn Alford and son Luke Clayton Alford of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, two sisters Lyndsie Brooke Allen and husband Rodney, Lauren Rachel Alford and one niece Paige Allen all of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, maternal grandma Ethelene Lindsey and paternal grandparents Amon and Shirley Alford all of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, father and mother-in-law Mike and Tina Brazile of Ponce De Leon, Dawn Nicholson of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, one sister-in-law Mindie Brazile of DeFuniak Springs, Florida and one brother-in-law Mickie Brazile of Freeport, Florida ,also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Visitation services will be conducted at 6:00~8:00 PM, Thursday, June 26, 2008 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Friday, June 27, 2008 at First Baptist Church of DeFuniak Springs, with Reverends Lonnie Wright and Joel Glenn officiating.
Burial will follow in the Euchee Valley Cemetery. Those asked to serve as pallbearers will be the Walton High School Football Team of 2004. Floral arrangements are being accepted.
