Wanda Marie Polvadore Finchum, 76, of Amarillo died Saturday, June 21, 2008.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Wanda was born March 31, 1932, in Tolar. In 1950, she married Jack Finchum.

Mrs. Finchum was a member of Tascosa Road Fellowship Church. She retired as a drapery maker, drove a school bus for 25 years and was known as "Mother Goose." She was an Avon lady and a great artist.

She was the first lady of Cliffside Community as a volunteer for the fire department. Wanda was a district polling judge for her community.

She was proud of the many quilts that she made and donated. She loved gardening, crafts, puzzles and games. Wanda was the most loving, caring mother, grandmother, sister, neighbor and friend that anyone could ask for.

Survivors include two daughters, Joy Finchum of Amarillo and Janice Baham of Scotsville, Ky.; a sister, Priscilla Brannum and husband James of Brazos; a brother, Kenneth Polvadore and wife LaQuita of Amarillo; two stepsons, Jerry Finchum and wife Sandra of Amarillo and Mark Finchum of Colorado; a stepdaughter, Mary Finchum of Clarendon; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a grandson, Donnie Finchum; a daughter, Jimmie Cantrell; and four brothers, Charlie Polvadore, Bob Polvadore, Clarence Polvador and Bernie Polvadore.

Family will be at 8515 Cliffside Road immediately following the service.

The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.
