Tara was a city of Kennesaw Georgia police Department trainee when she was accidentally shot and killed during a weapens training class.
---------
Officer Drummond was accidentally shot and killed while attending training at the North Central Georgia Law Enforcement Academy. She was shot during a firearms training session when the instructor's firearm discharged as he was performing a demonstration. Officer Drummond was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to the wound.

Officer Drummond was sworn in as an officer with the Kennesaw Police Department only four months earlier.
Tara had purposed her long term life's goal to become a Criminal Investigative Detective with the GBI or the FBI.

After graduating from East Paulding High School in 2000, she worked at Vincent, Tally, Richardson Law Offices gaining valuable training and exposure to legal processes and increasing the desire for her goals. Early in 2005, the opportunity to continue pursuit of her goals became a reality when she received the opportunity to serve with the Kennesaw Police Department.

She loved her co-workers, her Yellow Lab Daisy, her brother Michael, her many extended family friends, and her sister Brittney.

There are no words that can express the depth to which she will be missed and there are no numbers which could count those who have been impacted by her life. "T" was special to everyone who knew her.

She leaves behind Brian & Tina Drummond, Frank & Renee Spagnuolo, brother Michael, beloved friend and sister Brittney, numerous secondary family members, and hundreds of loved friends and fellow officers.

In lieu of flowers and other gifts, donations may be made in her memory to the Paulding County Animal Shelter because of her love for God's creation. Plans are in work to construct a memorial along the Silver Comet Trail in the Pet Area Park.
