Dies Sunday At Farm Home
Mrs. Florence Emeline Affeld, 56, wife of Richard Affeld, died at 8:30 o'clock Sunday evening at her home, two miles west of Westville, in Porter County, following an illness of several years.
The decedent was born in Valparaiso on Oct. 16, 1886, a daughter of James and Mary Brownbridge, both deceased.
She was united in marriage to Richard Affeld in November, 1904. To this union were born five children, three of whom preceded her in death. Surviving children are two sons, Harry and Walter Affeld, of Valparaiso. There are three grandchildren, Harley Affeld, Nancy Affeld and Jackie Affeld. A granddaughter, Joan Affeld, died recently.
Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Frank Brownbridge and Zerah Brownbridge, of Valparaiso; Marion Brownbridge, of Phoenix, Arizona; Roy Brownbridge, of South Bend; Mrs. Bessie Vroman and Mrs. Ida Slagle, of Valparaiso; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Affeld united with the Christian church of the city in 1902.
She was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Women and College City Camp, No. 3122, Royal Neighbors.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday at the LePell Funeral Home on Monroe Street. Rev. S. L. Shippey, of the Christian church, officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
Friends may call at the LePell Funeral Home from 2 p.m. Tuesday and up until time of the services.
