Lieutenant Henry A. Bergfeld, was commissioned as a Police Officer on 05/03/1948 and entered the academy for the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department. After completion of the academy he had the following assignments in these Districts and Specialized Divisions through out his career. They were the 9Th and the Prisoner Processing Division. On 03/15/1960 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and was transferred to the Academy / Personal Division, Police Service Audit Unit, and the Prisoner Processing Division. On 01/01/1965 he was promoted once again to the rank of Lieutenant of Police and was transferred to the Office of the Chief of Police, followed by assignments in the 3Rd, 8Th, Field Inspection and Evaluation Unit, 8Th, and finally the Bureau of Field Operations. He also attended the FBI Academy for police officers. During his career he was awarded 1 Chief's Letter of Commendation for police work above the call of duty on 01/01/1974. Lt. Bergfeld completed 31.39 years of faithful and dedicated service to the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
Lt. Bergfeld was also a veteran on the United States Air Force and achieved the rank of Staff/Sergeant.
A 32nd degree Mason.
