Sarah Elizabeth Adamson was born in Lee county (sic), Iowa, October 30th, 1847. She united with the Christian church (sic) at Bellair, Iowa, November 23, 1863, was married at Centerville, Iowa, December 13th, 1882, to J.W. Shively of Eldorado, Kansas, and died in Nelson, Nebraska, January 14, 1906, at the age of 58 years, 2 months and 14 days. Of her immediate family there remain to mourn her loss, the husband and two children, Esther and Carl, four brothers in Iowa, an aged father now in his 89th year, and four brothers in Nuckolls county (sic), Nebraska. Six of the brothers, John, Mose, Willis, William, Noah and James were present at the funeral which was preached by H.S. Gilliam of Hastings, an old time friend. After the funeral which was held in the Christian church (sic) Tuesday, January 16th a large procession of sympathetic friends followed the remains to the Nelson cemetery (sic) where the last tribute of respect was paid to this noble woman who was worthy of all the respect and esteem that her friends and neighbors were want to lavish upon her. She rests from her labors and her works do follow her. The family have the sympathy of the entire community. May God deal gently with the family is the prayer of a friend.
