Floyd Frederick Fowlie was born on a farm near Rockwell City, June 20, 1899,[sic] and grew to manhood in this vicinity. He participated in World War I and was a member of the local post of the American Legion.
He was united in marriage to Ruth McCoy of Lake City [Iowa], November 11, 1926 and in April 2, 1936 they moved to a farm in Minn., where they resided until his death March 7,1947.
He is survived by his wife Ruth, five brothers, William and George of Rockwell City, Alex of Winnebago, Minn., Frank of Lake City, and Henry of Columbus, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Sophie Pratt of Dubuque, Mrs. Mary Hull of Callender, and Mrs. Maggie Samsel of Fonda.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. in the Methodist church, Rockwell City. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
