On May 19, 1951 she was united in marriage to Forest E. Ambrose. They made their home in Columbia City. Mr. Ambrose died April 8, 1994. As a CNA, she worked at Alfran Nursing Home which later became The Oaks, Columbia City for over 20 years. She retired in 1991.
Surviving relatives include three sons, Dennis (Janet) Ambrose, Claypool, Scott (Connie) Ambrose, Warsaw and Mathew (Lorena) Ambrose, Columbia City; a daughter, Victoria (Ronal) Harness, Columbia City; 6 grandchildren and 4 step grandchildren; several great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Kelly Ambrose and nine brothers.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Final Expenses c/o Smith and Sons or Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.
