She was born June 18, 1926 in Wayne Township, Mifflin County, the daughter of Elmer S. and Lulu M. Byers, attended First Assembly of God, Harrisburg, and retired in 1988 with over 40 years of service from Hershey Foods wrapping department. Dot was a very dedicated Christian and was a blessing to her friends, touching the lives of many people through sharing and visitation. She loved being around children, reading her Bible, especially Psalm 121, and she adored her pets Trixie, Buddie, Bootie, and Pretty Kitty.
Surviving are her brother Edison, husband of Phyllis Byers of Blairs Mills; sister, Vera Knepp of Lewistown; several nieces and nephews; and her many beloved friends with whom she became a part of their families.
She was preceded in death by siblings Dennison Byers, Emory Byers, Jay Byers, and Hazel Apple.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on her 82nd birthday, Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at Buse Funeral Home, 9066 Jonestown Road, Grantville preceded by a viewing from 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Grantville Cemetery.
