Dr. L.H. Ahrens, Fontanelle, Dies
FONTANELLE - Dr. L. H. Ahrens, 82, who had practiced medicine in Fontanelle for the past 42 years, died at the Adair county Memorial hospital at 2:15 a.m. Thursday. He had entered the hospital about 8 p.m. Wednesday when he became ill suddenly.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Ewing funeral home at Fontanelle. Rev. Evan Routh will officiate. Burial will be in the Fontanelle cemetery.
Dr. Ahrens is survived by his widow, Myrtle; two sons, Harold of Carlisle and Edward of Des Moines; a grandson and a granddaughter; and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Shalburg and Mrs. Clifford Powell, both of Omaha, Nebr.
Dr. Ahrens had been practicing medicine for 57 years.
