Born July 2, 1948 in Rushville, he was the son of Verl and Hildred (Wall) Hornaday, both deceased. He married Rebecca Hallgarth; she survives.
Mr. Hornaday lived his entire life in Rushville. He worked for several years at Hankin's Cabinet Shop as a woodworker. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Rushville. He was also a member of the Rushville Eagles Lodge and the VFW.
Survivors include one son, William A. Hornaday (and wife Amy) of Rushville; three daughters, Amy (Mrs Tim) Trowbridge of Mays, Wendy (Mrs. Kevin) Aylsworth and Shannon (Mrs. Jim) Woods, both of Rushville; three brothers, Vernon, Richard and Terry Hornaday, all of Rushville; three sisters, Alice (Mrs. Frank) Hensley, Elaine (Mrs. Gene) Kenneedy and Patty (Mrs. Raymond) Glenn, all of Rushville; and 15 grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Moster & Cox Mortuary in Rushville, with the Rev. Charles Justice officiating. Burial will follow in East Hill Cemetery in Rushville. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
