Fred Richard Allen, age 93, passed away on April 2, 1995 of causes incident to age.
Fred was born in Salt Lake City on February 21, 1902 to John Franklin and Margaret Ann Jones Allen.
He graduated from Millard Academy, Hinkley, Utah. He was a World War I veteran and served in France.
He married Thelma Blake on April 4, 1928. She preceded him in death. He married Thisbe Callahan Pierce on December 13, 1941.
He is survived by his wife, Thisbe; nine children: Josephine (Stewart) Zaugg, Union, Oregon; Marie (Jim) Hill, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Blanch (Gary) Kohlor, Union, Oregon; Ted H. Pierce (Lorraine), American Fork; Jerry D. Pierce (Janice), Taylorsville; Hazel (J. Ralph) Nelson, Sandy; Fred N. Allen (Judy), South Jordan; Kay (Rex) Frehner, Riverton; Charlotte Craig, West Jordan; sisters, Violet Allen and Thelma Eggen, both Salt Lake City; 39 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Margaret, four grandchldren, five brothers and one sisters.
Fred was a carpenter by trade and he loved to travel. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Draper Rehabilitation Center for their loving care.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 7, 1995 at 1 p.m. at Lake Hills Memorial Estates 10055 So. State, Sandy, Utah, where friends may call one hour prior to services.
