Julia Jeanette Babcock
Julia Jeanette Babcock passed away at the Saint Olaf hospital in Austin, Minn., on Tuesday, Dec. 1st, 1964 at the age of fifty nine years.
The daughter of John and Sarah Bjugan Rafferty she was born at St. Paul, Minn., on Feb. 21st, 1905. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith.
On February 21st, 1922, she was united in marriage to Birdge Babcock. They established their home at Brook Park, Minn., for a period of time. She has resided in West Concord for the past thirty years with the exception of the last year when she was a resident of the Lutheran Retirement Home at Austin, Minn.
She is survived by three sons Birdge of Moline, Ill., Harold of Manitowoc, Wis., and David of Owatonna, Minn.; Six daughters, Elaine (Mrs. Milford Busho) of Austin, Irene (Mrs. L.A. Meyer) of West Concord, Eunice (Mrs. Ed. Koberstein) of Nerstrand, Lola (Mrs.W.L.Reim) of Austin, Beverly (Mrs. B. F. Houston) of Austin, Pearl (Mrs. Kenneth Fenimore) of Saint Louis; Mo., and thirty grandchildren, also one brother Joseph Rafferty of Tacoma. Wash, and one sister Miss Mary Rafferty of Minneapolis, Minn.
Her husband preceded her in death on October 15, 1962, one son and two daughters also preceded her in death.
A family service was held at the Hanson Funeral Rome in Kenyon at 11 a.m. on Friday. Dec. 4th with services at the Zion Lutheran church in West Concord, Minn. at 2 p. m. The Rev. M. 0. Kirsch officiating at both services. Mr. Harold Rehwaldt rendered two vocal selections; What A Friend We Have In Jesus and Asleep In Jesus, accompanied by Mrs. James Abel as church organist.
Interment took place at the Concord cemetery.
Pallbearers were William Babcock, John. Babcock, Dennis Boik, James Meyer, Ronald Koberstein and Craig Busho.
