Mamie Blocker, 89, died Sunday, December 17, 2006, at Pine Crest Guest Home. Funeral services are 2 p.m. today at Stringer Family Funeral Service chapel in Crystal Springs with burial in the New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Service in Crystal Springs is handling the arrangements.
Mrs. Blocker was a former longtime resident of Jackson. She had lived in Copiah County for the past 30 years. Mrs. Blocker was a member of New Zion Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Albert L. Blocker and a daughter Janice Blocker.
Survivors include: son, Perry Blocker and wife Dot of Crystal Springs; brothers, Murray James of Meridian and Harold James of Madison; sister, Zilla Mae Russell of Biloxi; grandchildren, Peter Blocker and wife Cherie of Huntsville, Pat Blocker and wife Kim of Crystal Springs, Jeff Testman and wife Jaymie of Huntsville; great-grandchildren, Paxton, Trevor, Kaleb, Isabelle, and Emma.
