He attended school in the Red Line District west of Nelson. He was baptized in the Lutheran Church on October 30, 1887.
October 26, 1909, Mr. Jacobitz was married to Josephine Garver at Tullia, Texas. One son and four daughters were born to this union.
Mr. Jacobitz worked for the railroad for a time and then farmed until retirement. From 1909 to 1943 he lived near Mt. Clare in Nuckolls County. He lived a few years at Stella, Nebraska, and then came to Nelson in 1947, living here the rest of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Josephine, who died December 22, 1977, and three brothers and sisters.
Survivors include our daughters, Mrs. Orval (Helen) TeSelle of Lincoln, Mrs. Earl (Louise) Timmerman of Stella, Mrs. Earl (Betty) Jacobitz of Nelson and Mrs. Ted (Shirley) Lyons of Sacramento, California; one son, Norman of of (sic) Stella; one sister, Lizzie Jacobitz of Hastings; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 1979, at the Klawitter Funeral Home in Nelson. Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery.
