"Grannis---In Salem, Oregon, Monday September 27, 1909, Mrs. George W. Grannis, aged 63 years.
The deceased was born at Barnsville, Ohio, January 21, 1846, and was married to Rev. Geo. W. Grannis on March 21, 1872. Batesville, Arkansas, was their first pastorate and in 1874 they were transferred to Walla Walla, Wash. In 1888 the Oregon Conference located them at Astoria, later serving at Astoria, Portland, and Salem, consecutively. In 1901 they removed to Pittsburg. During all this time Mrs. Grannis has been a devoted Christian woman, living a life of helpfulness, with no care for herself.
A few weeks ago she accompanied her husband to the West, requesting that if her final summons came while here, that she might sleep with the old pioneers at rest in Lee Mission cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. Geo. W. Grannis, two sisters and four brothers. One of her sisters, Mrs. Williams, resided in this city, and one brother in Portland. One sister resided in Missouri, two brothers are in Kansas, and one in Iowa."
