LELAND P. BRESETT WORLD WAR II VETERAN

Leland P. Bresett, 75, of 427 Kiah St., died Sunday at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center.

Mr. Bresett served in the Marine Corps during World War II and was a bartender at the Franco-American Club.

Born Jan. 25, 1926, in Ogdensburg, son of Bert and Maude Liscum Bresett, he married Mildred P. Terrance Strait in 1950. The marriage ended in separation. She died Dec. 21, 1999.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Amvets posts.

Surviving are a son, two daughters, 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A son, Joseph Strait, seven brothers, Merrill, Vernon, Maynard, Lawrence, Ward, Percy and Murray, and six sisters, Leva Gladle, Lyla VanCleve, Leola Lajoy, June Bresett, Arlie Hughes and Lela Bresett, died before him.

A graveside service will be at the family's convenience in the veterans plot at Ogdensburg Cemetery.
