The Right Honorable Sir Ronald Charles Lindsay b: 3 May 1877. D: 21 Aug 1945 He was the son of Sir James Ludovic Lindsay 26th Earl of Crawford and Emily Florence Bootle-Wilbraham

Sir Ronald was a Commander; Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) held the office of Under-Secretary of Finance, Egypt between 1913 - 1919 and was decorated with the Grand Officer, Order of the Nile. He held the office of Minister Plenipotentiary to France in 1920 and was invested as a Privy Counselor. He held the office of Assistant Under-Secretary of State for the Foreign Office between 1921- 1924. He held the office of Ambassador to Turkey between 1925 - 1926. He held the office of Ambassador to Germany between 1926 - 1928. He held the office of Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Foreign Office between 1928- 1930. He was invested as a Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath He was invested as a Knight Grand Cross, Order of St. Michael and St. George (G.C.M.G.). He held the office of Ambassador to the U.S.A. between 1930 and 1939. He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws (LL.D.) by Harvard University in 1933.
Sir Ronald married Martha Cameron the daughter of Senator James Donald Cameron and Elizabeth Sherman Cameron on 18 March 1909. Martha died on 28 April 1918 and was buried at Stepleton House, Irwene Steepleton, Dorset England . In 1922 he married Elizabeth Sherman Hoyt Marthas' cousin . Elizabeth died in 1945
