Dovie Anderson Moffett Tucker Bankhead, age 96, died Friday night at the Chester County Healthcare.

She was born and reared in Panola County, Texas, the daughter of the late W. T. & Bonzie Britton Anderson. She grew up in Texas & attended schools in Panola County.

She was married to O. W. Moffett & later to Charles Worthy Tucker & they made their home in Panola County where they farmed, raised cattle & Mr. Tucker also did construction work. He died in 1964. She continued to raise cattle on the farm after Mr. Tucker's death.

She was married to J. L. Bankhead in 1970 & they continued to live in Panola County. She moved to Jacks Creek in her later years to be near her children.

She enjoyed raising flowers & gardening.

She is survived by two sons: James G. Moffett & wife Peggy of Memphis & Milton Tucker & wife Patricia of Jacks Creek & a step-son Jesse Bankhead of Carthage, TX.

She has 5 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 10 step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a great grandchild; Kerri Castello

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday from the chapel of Casey Funeral Home with Dr. Roy Sharp officiating &burial will follow at the Estes Cemetery.

James Lowell Bankhead, 75, of Longbranch died Saturday afternoon, July 20, in Panola General Hospital.

Bankhead was born in Franklin [County], Texas, March 20, 1910, the son of Jesse E. and Annie Vinilla Redfern Bankhead. He was retired from United Gas as a supervisor after 30 years of service. A Church of Christ minister for 51 years, he was a member of the ByField Church of Christ where he was an adult Sunday School teacher.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 22, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Hawthorn Funeral Home, with Rev. James Stringer and Rev. James Moffett officiating. Interment followed in Restland Memorial Park.

The family received friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 4 until 9 p.m.

Bankhead is survived by his wife, Dovie Bankhead of Longbranch; a son, Jesse A. "Buddy" Bankhead of Henderson; two stepsons, James Moffett of Memphis, Tenn., and Milton Tucker of Henderson; a daughter, Tommie D. Sloan of Fort Worth; a sister, Geraldine Waldrup of Big Sandy; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
