Born in Virginia to Daniel and Anna Coger Adney, Elizabeth moved with her family to Preble Co., Ohio, where she and three of her sisters married Rinehart brothers, also from Virginia. Elizabeth married Daniel Rinehart, Mary Adney married Jacob Rinehart, Sarah Adney married Peter Rinehart, and Rebecca Adney married David Rinehart. Elizabeth, Mary, and Sarah moved with their husbands to Henry Co., IN. In 1880, as a widow, Elizabeth was living with her son Daniel D. Rinehart and his wife Mary Jane Wimmer and their children John, Daniel L., and Sarah. By 1880, Daniel & Mary Jane and their children had moved to Huntington Co., IN and Elizabeth stayed in Liberty, Henry Co., IN by herself.
