Grandfather to Blake Peurifoy and Allison Peurifoy."Buck" Peurifoy was the founder and owner of Craftsman's Finishers, a hosiery textile company. He was a lifelong member of Forest Hill United Methodist Church in Concord, serving as chair of the new sanctuary finance committee at the time of his death.
During the Second World War he served in the US Navy on the USS John W. Weeks. He was Seaman 1st Class and served in the Pacific Theater.


He received the Asiatic-Pacific Medal and the American Theater Medal.
