Dale Raymond Bronson, 86, died Wednesday, May 16, 2001 at the Karlstad Healthcare Center.

He was born to Ephriam and Eleanor (Lindstrom) Bronson Dec. 30, 1914 at Lake Bronson.

He attended school and grew to manhood there and was baptized and confirmed at the Eidsvold Lutheran Church, Halma.

He served with the U.S. Army from 1942 until 1945, serving in Europe and fighting in the Battle of the Bulge.

He married Myrtle Bengston at Hallock Aug. 9, 1947.

The couple made their home there and he worked for the Kiene Farms. In 1948, they moved to a farm in Norway Township of Kittson County, near Lake Bronson. In 1962, they returned to Hallock where he was employed by the Glidden Farms. He also worked at the American Crystal Sugar plant in Drayton, ND and helped build the plant.

He retired from the plant in 1976 and continued to work for Glidden Farms until retirement in 1982.

He was a member of the Halma-Lake Bronson American Legion Post. Since Dec. of 1999, he had resided at the Karlstad Healthcare Center.

He is survived by his wife, Myrtle; two sons, Clayton and his wife, Cindy of Drayton; Larry and his wife, Tabitha of Badger; one daughter, Deborah (Mrs. Dan) Nordine of Hallock, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren; one brother, Floyd and his wife, Vera of Pinehurst ID; two sisters, Margaret Billing, Hallock and Donafae Anderson, Lake Bronson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: Art, Kenneth, Walter and Norman and two sisters: Ethel and Ellen.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 21, 2001, 10 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, Lake Bronson with Rev. Mitch Tolpingrud officiating, Lenore Olson, organist and Lola Germundson, soloist.

Pallbearers were Kenny Klegstad, Roger Jacobson, Ricky Swanson, Mark Ingeman, Jeff Ingeman, Brian Ingeman.

Military honors were accorded by the Halma-Lake Bronson American Legion Post.

Arrangements were made with the Collins Funeral Home of Karlstad.
