Funeral services for Eva Nell Anderson, 66, of
Gilmer were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29 at Croley Chapel
with the Rev. Rex Nolan officiating. Burial was at Hopewell
Cemetery. Mrs. Anderson died Wednesday, Oct. 25, in Gilmer.
A native of Rusk County, she was born July 29, 1934, and
lived in Upshur County most of her life. She was a homemaker
and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a longtime
volunteer leader of Texas 4-H. She earned a BA in Home
Economics at Sam Houston State University, and was a home
demonstration agent in Carrizo Springs for three years.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Milton and
Ginger Anderson of Gilmer; a daughter and son-in-law, Lea
Ann and Earl Tedford of Gilmer; daughters, Sissy Barnwell
of Pritchett, Rae Nell Anderson of Houston, and Janie Garner
of Carthage, MO; a sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and
Harrell Smith; an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Malba Thorn
of Gilmer; nine grandchildren and two grandsons-in-law.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Narvel Cox.
Pallbearers were Joe Glenn, Charles Gordon, Harry Sutphen, Bo
Thompson, Frank Tomlin and James Allen Tomlin.
