James R. Stewart passed away Thursday, May 29, 2008. Visitation will be Sunday, June 1, 2008 from 6-8:00p.m. at the D.W. Newcomer's Sons Noland Road Chapel 509 S. Noland Rd. Independence MO, 64050. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 2, 2008 at the Full Gospel Assembly Church Independence, MO. Burial will follow in Forest Hill and Calvary Cemetery. James was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister, wife Betty, and daughter Martha Stewart. He is survived by: wife; Katherine, children; Dan Stewart, and Mary Reinke, 7 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren, all from the Kansas City area. James served in the U.S. Marine Corp. from 1941-1945. He married Betty Stewart in 1945. During his lifetime James was employed by Jewel T. Company, sold life insurance, and worked for 28 years as an expeditor for the McAuley Electric Company. James was a lifetime member of the VFW. Throughout his years of service to the church, James started a bus ministry for the Sheffield Family Center, was a founding member of the Victory Temple and Calvary Temple, and was a long-time member of the Praise Tabernacle. On June 22, 1994 he married wife, Katherine, where they were members of the Full Gospel Assembly Church.
