FLORENCE MARIA BELSTRA DeMotte, Indiana Florence Maria Belstra, age 86 of DeMotte, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 with her family at her side. She was born on January 31, 1922 in Stevenson, California to Ellen (nee Erickson) and Fred Alfred Hanson, both deceased. Flo was a 1940 graduate of Hilmar Union High School, Hilmar, California, and she received her Nursing Degree at St. Mary's College of Nursing in San Francisco, California. On February 12, 1945 she married Albert K. "Bud" Belstra who passed away April 28, 2008. She was a loving wife and mother who kept the home together, doing her wonderful cooking, for which she was awarded the Golden Spatula Award by her friends at Belstra Milling. Flo was also a Seamstress and loved working in her garden. She was very generous with her time and gifts of love. She was a member of First Reformed Church. Flo is survived by her loving children, Ellen (Mike) Mullins, Timothy (Marta) Belstra and Molly (Paul) Ciancanelli all of DeMotte, Indiana, Amy Belstra of Denver, Colorado; and her daughter-in-law, Patricia Belstra of Wheatfield, Indiana; grandchildren, Amanda, Abigail and Andrew Mullins, Brad and Matt Belstra, Sasha Hostetter and Barrett Spurgeon; great-grandchildren, Gerrit and Tristan Hostetter; sisters, Ruth (Clarence) Sneed of Panarama City, California and Eliefe Goncalves of Concord, California. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert "Bud"; her son, Max and one brother. Friends may call on Friday, May 30, 2008 from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Jackson Funeral Service, 200 Third St. SW, DeMotte, Indiana 46310. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 10:00 AM at The First Reformed Church, DeMotte, Indiana with Pastors Roger Huitink and John Huff officiating. Interment at Holland Cemetery, DeMotte, IN. Memorials may be given to Oak Grove Christian Retirement Village, DeMotte, IN.
