Alma Berta was born to the parents of Tim and Sarrah Kizzar Marriott in Arkansas. Her family moved from Arkansas to Texas in the late 1890's. Alma met Jeffrey Griggs and not too long later they married in Athens, Henderson, Texas on 26 Jun 1909. They moved later to Red Oak, Ellis, Texas and that is where they stayed. Jeffrey passed in 1972, where Alma lived to be 93 years old. They had four children: Grover, Coil, Maxine, and Norma.
