Mrs. Minnie Love Almy, 91, a resident of Randolph, New York since 1902 died Friday morning, November 29, 1957 in her home on Church Street. She was the wife of Jewett M. Almy.

She was born in Sinclairville, January 8, 1866, the daughter of Martin Van Buren and Hannah Dunbar Love. Her marriage to Mr. Jewett M. Almy took place September 25, 1895, in Centralia, Chautauqua County, New York. Her husband was a partner in the Felt and Almy Hardware in Randolph for many years.

Mrs. Minerva "Minnie" Love Almy graduated from Sinclairville Academy in 1886 and taught school for several years. She was one of the first to study stenography in the old Jamestown Business College and at one time had been employed in the office of Judge Lambert and also the office of Cook, Fisher, and Wade.

She was a member of the Federated Church of Randolph, and a 50 year member of the Fidelity Chapter 239, Order of the Eastern Star.

Besides her husband she is survived by a son, Robert Paul Almy of Columbia, South Carolina; a granddaughter, a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 2, 1957 at the Myers Funeral Home in Randolph. Reverend J. L. Petrie, pastor of the Randolph Federated Church will officiate with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Sinclairville, New York.
