Heuvelton—Mrs. Mary Best, 78, died this morning at 3:15 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. H. Witherell on the Heuvelton - Pope Mills Road. She had been ill some time with a heart ailment.
Mrs. Best was born in Canton Jan. 28, 1860 the daughter of Thomas and Eliza Backus Connolly. She married the late Silas Best, Oct. 20. 1886 In Heuvelton.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern star and spent all her life in this section. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Witherell and a son, Ralph Best, both of this section.
Funeral services will be held from the home at 2 Saturday afternoon with the Rev. L. M. Kincaid of Depeyster officiating. The body will be placed in the vault in the Heuvelton Cemetery. Bearers will be Noah Parish, Leon Kirby, Roy Howie, Charles Witherell, Ralph Mayne and Lyle Srhithers.
