Hazel Johnson Bible, 86, of West Main Street, died Tuesday morning (December 9, 2003) at Takoma Adventist Hospital. She was a member of Covenant Family Worship Center.

Mrs. Bible was a daughter of the late Ralph Johnson and the late Callie Johnson Oglesby and the widow of J.C. Bible. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lyndall Walker.
Mrs. Bible's family said she was not only a wonderful mother but she was also a best friend to her children.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Roslyn and Elwood Gift of Oak Ridge and Barbara and Charles Carter of Greeneville; eight grandchildren and their spouses: Mark and Susie Meredith of Nashville, Joan Meredith of Knoxville, Rick and Jennifer Walker and Brent and Trish Walker, all of Whitesburg, Holly Luarti of Rosewood, Calif., Tom and Margie Carter of Pensacola, Fla., Joe and Becky Carter of Taylorsville, N.C., and Sally and Tom Moran of Lilburn, Ga.; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters and brothers-in-law: Mildred and George Brown of Ringgold, Ga., and Ralphine and Gene Miller of Mosheim.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will follow visitation at 8 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Randy Reed will officiate.
Family and friends will meet in Andrew Johnson National Cemetery on Friday morning for the 11 o'clock committal service
