Mrs. Jernigan , widow of Rev. B.B. Jernigan , died Tuesday, November 4, 2003, in Lowman Home, White Rock. She was born July 13, 1900, in Ridgeway, and was the eldest of eight children born to the late Joseph Hines Coleman and Martha Walker Harrison Coleman.

At an early age, Mrs. Jernigan joined the staff of the S.C. Baptist Convention in Columbia as a secretary in the Sunday School Division, a position she held for 43 years. She was a devoted member of Eau Claire Baptist Church in Columbia and a member of the XYZ Club.
