State of Alabama, County of DeKalb ss. Affidavit
"Joe D King, being first duly sworn on his oath states: That he resides at Fort Payne, Alabama; That he is of the age of 60 years; That he was acquainted with George Bowman and his wife Polly Ann Bowman; That he has know Polly Ann Bowman nee McNew since she was a child and knows that she was never married until she was married to George Bowman in 1891, and that affiant attended her
wedding and was present when she was married to George Bowman; That affiant grew up in the neighborhood with Polly Ann Bowman and makes this affidavit from his personal knowledge; That he knew her before she was of marriageable age and has known her ever since and know positively that she was never married before the marriage herein stated; Affiant further state that George Bowman was married one time prior to said marriage to one Nannie Reddin Bowman who dies about May 1st, 1890, and your affiant was acquainted with them and lived in their neighborhood and was related to them the said George Bowman being his uncle, and further affiant saith not."
