Mrs. Clara B. James, 69 years old, 3924 North 6th Street, Fort Smith, Arkansas, died Wednesday morning, November 15, 1967 following a long illness. A former resident of Van Buren, Arkansas. Mrs. James was born April 4, 1898 at Mayflower, Arkansas, the daughter of Mr.Jesse Leonida Merrell and Mrs. Georgia Anne Lockey Merrill. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist church.

Survivors are her husband, Cornelius; a son; a daughter, Virginia of Fort Smith; two sisters, Mrs. Latchey of Van Buren and loula of Jackson, Michigan; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Edwards Funeral Home chapel with Eddie James, the officiating minister. Burial was in Forest Park cemetery.
