Walter E. Apgar, 83, died Saturday, May 10, 2008 at the Rolling Hills Care Center, Clinton Township, NJ, where he has resided for nearly seven years. Born: On June 4, 1924, in Lebanon Township, NJ, he was a son of the late William Francis and Annabel Kearns Apgar. Personal: Walter was the husband of the former Lois Castmore of Plumsteadville, Pa. He resided in Hampton, NJ, prior to moving to the care center. Walter was employed as a custodian at Voorhees High School in Glen Gardner, NJ, retiring in 1989. He served in the Army in Germany during peacetime. Memberships: He was a member of Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church, Pleasant Grove, NJ. Survivors: In addition to his wife Lois, he is survived by a daughter, Roxanne Hoffman and her husband Dwayne of Cape Coral, Fla.; a brother, William Apgar of Lebanon Township, NJ, and a sister, Dorothy Cawley of Raritan Township, NJ. Services: Funeral Service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Coughlin Funeral Home, 15 Academy Street, Califon, NJ, followed by burial in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Pleasant Grove, NJ.
